Neoteric Hovercraft

Neoteric hovercraft are recognized as the industry standard for rescue, commercial and recreational personal hovercraft. Founded in 1960, Neoteric is the world's original and most experienced hovercraft manufacturer, with clientele in 50 nations. The Neoteric Hovertrek ® is the only hovercraft available with effective brakes, and is the lightest and quietest production hovercraft in the industry.

Neoteric has a level of experience and professionalism superior to any other light hovercraft manufacturer. When the U. S. Coast Guard surveyed marine craft manufacturers, they discovered that most of them had no engineers at all, while Neoteric has been founded by a team of Engineers. This is why they consistently produce hovercraft that are innovative and a standard in the industry.

NEOTERIC PATENTED REVERSE THRUST SYSTEM Patented worldwide, this system provides all Neoteric models with superb maneuverability for reversing, yawing, spinning, braking, maintaining lift cushion downwind at speed, and is absolutely essential over ice and rapidly flowing water. Delivering 60% thrust when reversing, the Neoteric reverse thrust is well ahead of jet aircraft in efficiency, in that they typically deliver a mere 18%. The Hovertrek is so efficient that it can achieve a speed of 25 mph (40 km/h) in reverse.

A hovercraft is an amphibious vehicle that is supported by a cushion of slightly pressurized air. Although often seen as a mysterious, even bizarre mode of transportation, it is conceptually quite simple. To understand how hovercraft work, it is necessary to realize that the dynamics are more closely related to aircraft than to boats or automobiles. As a member of the family of air cushion vehicles (ACVs) or ground effect machines, which includes wing-in-ground-effect or ram wings, surface effect ships, sidewall hovercraft, and surface skimmers, hovercraft, are the amphibious member of the air cushion vehicle family. They are the most novel among vehicles that are supported by pressurized air. Refer to the illustration below as you read about how hovercraft actually function.
